- One of the top 5 global copper projects per capital cost and resources
- US$ 4-5 billion in capital investment, comparable in scale to that of the Panama Canal expansion
- 14,700 jobs, on average, during the construction of the mine
- 4,800 jobs during mine operations
- 50% of project material costs to be spent locally, creating significant growth opportunities to local businesses
- Over US$ 3 billion in government revenue over the life of the mine
- Mine benefits to Panama estimated in excess of 10% of GDP once the mine is operating
- Key infrastructure development: road along the pipeline to the port, coal power plant including transmission lines, a port at Punta Rincon
