Adolescents benefit from prevention programs
(Panama, May 10, 2012). In partnership with the Ministry of Social Development (Ministerio de Desarrollo Social, MIDES), the Ministry of Health (Ministerio de Salud, MINSA), the parents of the IPT of Coclesito and adolescents of neighboring communities to the Cobre Panama project, Minera Panama is carrying out a program to prevent domestic violence, premature pregnancy, HIV Aids, alcoholism and drug addiction for more than 300 adolescents of the communities. This program will be carried out with ONG EUREKA and forms part of the topics of interest identified by members of the 24 communities that participated in workshops for development of the Regional Sustainable Development Plan for the Districts of Donoso and La Pintada

Inmet Mining joins International Council on Mining and Metals
(Panama, May 16, 2012) Inmet Mining Corporation, a company holding 80% shares of Minera Panama, informed about becoming a member of the International Council on Mining and Metals (Consejo Internacional de Minería y Metales, ICMM), an organization that brings together the leading mining and metals companies of the world, such as regional, national and community associations. These companies and associations are committed to improving their performance in sustainable development and responsible production of mineral and metal resources needed by society.
The Valórate Foundation (Value Yourself Foundation) and Minera Panama sign agreement to support children with special needs
(Panama, May 2, 2012). More than 60 parents from the community of Miguel de la Borda and 70 children from the La Feria area in Colon benefited from the cooperation agreement signed by the company Minera Panama and the Valórate Foundation to offer training and support to minors with attention and learning handicaps.
